Rough, unpolished and unconventional, that’s probably the best way to describe the universe of the French-Belgian artist Kalbut. From a sustainable philosophy, he creates - with a large variety of recycled materials - new sculptures that are often linked to the rich animalistic world. ‘Full Metal Bernard’ is his distinctive interpretation of our St.Bernardus.
In 2012, Sint Bernardus brewery started a yearly tradition by presenting our St.Bernardus Abt 12 in a unique way. We created a new Magnum bottle and every year, an artist created an artwork especially for this occasion.
The beer
St.Bernardus Abt 12 is considered as one of the world's greatest beers. It is still brewed following the original recipe from 1946. It's a dark abbey ale, 10% ABV, perfectly balanced with a full body and a hoppy bite.
The bottle
The dark brown Magnum bottle is designed especially for this occasion. The brewery logo is embossed in the bottle, which gives it a stylish finish. In addition, the special 'Bière Belge neck', the personalized champagne cork and the full color wirehood make this Magnum a true collector's item.
The artwork
This years’ design celebrates our 70th anniversary and offers a view on the current brewery. De screen printing of the design on the bottle makes this Magnum bottle very unique.
